ThemeWare® Manual

Accessibility

An accessible shop can also be used comfortably with a keyboard, a screen reader or limited vision. All customers benefit from this, and since 28 June 2025 accessibility has been mandatory for many online shops in the EU (Directive (EU) 2019/882, implemented in Germany as the "Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz", BFSG).

Shopware provided the necessary adaptations of the storefront with version 6.7. ThemeWare® builds on them and additionally optimises its own elements. In this section you adjust accessibility globally, e.g. the underlining of links or the colour of the focus ring. Some ThemeWare® CMS elements also have their own "Accessibility" section, where you can e.g. enter an alt text or mark an image as decorative.

Configuration: Tab "Others" => Block "Accessibility"
